海量地形可视化的研究现状与前景展望

摘    要:大范围、海量地形数据的可视化是当前地理信息系统、虚拟现实、军事仿真等领域的研究热点之一。该文从计算机硬件、软件两方面对海量地形可视化的系列实现技术进行了归纳与总结,包括图形显卡的硬件加速、图形软件包的显示优化、地形简化、可视性裁剪、分块动态调用等;之后对海量地形数据可视化的未来研究方向进行了展望,认为在海量地形数据的简化算法、面向网络的海量地形可视化、海量地形数据的空间数据库存储等方面应该进一步加深研究的力度。

Abstract:Visualization of massive terrain is one of the research spots of Geographic Information System, Virtual Reality, military simulation and so on. Some clues of massive terrain visualization, such as hardware acceleration of Graphics Process Unit, render optimization of graphics toolkit, terrain simplification algorithms, visibility culling and block dynamic loading, are summarized from aspects of computer hardware and software. The future research directions of massive terrain visualization are forseen.They are simplification algorithms for Massive terrain, massive terrain visualization through Internet or Intranet and spatial database storage of massive terrain data and should be researched further.
