Institution:	Stuart Cohen, Ph.D., CGWP is president of Environmental &Turf Services Inc., with offices in Maryland (11141 Georgia Ave., Ste. 208, Wheaton, MD 20902) and Vermont. From 1976 to 1986, he worked at the U.S. EPA, where he was in charge of the Ground Water Section in the Office of Pesticide Programs from 1984 to 1986. He is past chairman of the Ground Water Protection and Management Subcommittee of the National Ground Water Association. Dr. Cohenen courages readers to submit ideas for future columns.

Abstract:	This column focuses on recent work in Europe. The intent is to present to American readers relevant studies they would not normally see. Much of the following was presented at the 9th International Congress of Pesticide Chemistry last summer in London. The congress was jointly sponsored by the International Union of Pure & Applied Chemistry and the Royal Society of Chemistry.
