Abstract:On the basis of Fourier-amplitude-spectra properties of deterministic earthquake accelerations and by imitating Gauss's probability density function,the paper constituted a mathematicalmodel of random earthquake acceleratioon Fourier-amplitude-spectra. By means of assuming different model parameters a series of random earthquake acceleration response spectra were obtained with a special computer program. According to well acknowledged data of ground motion the paper divided earthquake acceleration response spectra into three groups (of maximum value mean and minimum) corresponding to the geotechnical conditions of earthquake site as a criterion. Detailed comparison was made for the obtained acceleration response spectra with Housner's average acceleration spectrum,El Centro earthquake acceleraion (1940. 5.18,N-S) response spectrum and the Chinese standard response spectra for aseismic design (1978).
