Body force equivalent calculations for subsidence of the Po valley

Summary Body force equivalents can be computed for subsidence of the Po delta in the twentieth century. Their preferred location suggests that not all of the subsidence is caused by pumping of fluids or other processes occurring at shallow depths. Some of the deformation may be due to crustal response to a north-south compressive stress.
