| Abstract: | Three origins of 129I have been discussed in this paper: atmospheric, subsurface and anthropogenic. Then, the paper presents with three examples the development of application of 129I in petroleum exploration, hydrogeological research and environmental detection. Finally, the direction for 129I in future research is proposed. |
