Abstract:In this paper, the related international organizations on the research of mathematical and physical foundations of geodesy are introduced briefly. Then some progresses and developments on the general theory and methodology of physical geodesy are described according to the presentations and information from IUGG99. Two aspects are included that: mathematical methods and tools and data processing and evaluation.
