GPS POINT POSITIONING: SOFTWARE AND RESULTS

: This paper first outlines the GPS point positioning software, SPP, developed by the author and then describes the basic observables on which SPP operates and the special considerations on the removal of the ionospheric effect in the software development. In the paper the results are presented of eight types of ionosphere-free solutions obtained by processing the WM102 data collected at Shanghai in August 1990. The internal accuracy is analysed and the comparison between GPS and SLR results is made. In has been shown that using several hour data, all of eight solution types can recov er the receiver location within several meters. Among these, the dual frequency phase solution may achieve a 2 meter accuracy, the dual frequency pseudorange solution may attain 6 meter accuracy level, and the combined solution of the single frepuency phase and pseuorange is commensurate with or even better than the dual frequency pseudorange solution in accuracy.
