摘    要:六十年代以来,人们在海洋和大陆边缘积累了大量地质、地球物理和地球化学资料,应运而生的“板块学说”,把人们的视野扩展到占地球表面百分之七十的广阔海域,使人们看到了有关洋壳演变为陆壳的许多独特的地质现象,使原来主要在大陆上获得认识的一些地质现象要求新的解释。本文将在前人地质资料基础上,利用板块学说探讨扬子古板块的形成和对中国南方地壳发展的影响。

Abstract:On the basis of previous works this paper attempts to apply the theory of plate-tectonics as suggested from data of oceanic crust to the study of the geology of continental crust. The presence of "Yangze old plate" is inferred from the study of rock formations; from the structural deformations produced in several diastrophic periods the direction of force affecting the South China plate is studied and according to the space-time relationships the formation and evol-ution of continental crust in South China are also disclosed. The evolution of the present "South China plate" is thus briefly sketched.The "Yangze old plate" formed during the Jinning-Chengjiang period in the southern part of China (south of Mts Qilianshan-Qinling) acted, since the beginning of the Paleozoic as a continental core and kept on expanding along its east and west margins from the Caledonian to the Himalayan periods until it became at last the "South China plate".
