Residence time of non-methane hydrocarbons in the atmosphere

Little is known about the atmospheric distribution and residence time of hydrocarbons, although this is critical in evaluating their impact on the oceans. This paper reviews the sparse data on both global production and concentration of atmospheric hydrocarbons in marine and continental non-urban areas, and estimates the atmospheric residence time of these substances.
