| Abstract: | In the early days of radioastronomy cylindrical parabolic reflectors were a popular technology. This paper traces some of the factors that have hindered their use in recent times. These factors no longer apply and as the cost of electronics decreases their applicability to the SKA becomes more and more favourable. |
