Relationship between transitional variation of summer sea surface temperature in the northwestern Pacific and ocean events during the 1960s

It has been pointed out in recent years by Yan et al.(1990 a,b) through analyses of timeand space variations in the different elements in the summer of the Northern Hemisphere during 1951-1980 that climate jump generally occurred in the summer of the Northern Hemisphere during the 1960s,in which geopotential heighht on 500 hPa in the Northern Hemisphere,the near surface air temperature and the SST of the north western Pacific appeared in the early of the 1960's(Fig.1).
