Affiliation: | Joseph W. Alderman received a B.A. in geology from Wooster College in Wooster, Ohio, in 1960. From 1960 to 1963 he was employed with the Ohio Division of Water, Department of Natural Resources performing surface and ground water inventories. In 1964 he presented a paper on the influence of the Alaska Earthquake on ground water levels. He was an engineering geologist and hydrogeologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1963 to 1975, stationed in Huntington, West Virginia;the Panama Canal Zone and Okinawa. Since 1975 he has been with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Middle East Division (P.O. Box 2250, Winchester, VA 22601-1450), performing geological and hydro-logical studies, water well and wellfield design in Saudi Arabia, Oman, Egypt, Thailand and Liberia;and evaluation of wellfield contamination problems and establishing of corrective procedures. |
