Abstract:This paper describes the design of a gray inverse filter system used for the calculation of the "gray porosity" following the sonic moveout. Following the basic principle of the gray inverse filter, this system thus designed can be used to filter out various noises caused by the detection system, harehole, and local environment to establish the inverse calculation relationship between the sonic moveout and the stratum porosity. The application evidence shows that the porosity obtained by means of the calculation methed shown above is more approximate to the actual porosity, and more focused on the difference between the stratum porosity values, thus enhancing the identification of thin oil reservoirs.
