The Stratigraphic Framework of Traissic Period in South Jiangsu

The Traissic Stratigraphy in South Jiangsu can be classified into 3 sequences based on the distinguishment of crucial interface. Their time lines are Indian Phase of Middle Traissic Epoch, Olenekian Phase of Early Traissic Epoch to Anisian Phase of Middle Traissic Epoch and Ladinian Phase of Middle Traissic Epoch to Carnian Phase of Late Traissic Epoch. The analysis of lithofacies and stratigraphic structure show that there exist 5 sedimentary systems in South Jiangsu, they are:gentle slope sedimentation of carbonate,plateform sedimentation of rimmed carbonate, tidal flat lagoonal sedimentation,epicontinental offshore lake sedimentation and lake marshland sedimentation. The Traissic stratigraphy experienced 3 times elevation and subsidence of sea level.
