| Abstract: | Based on the in-situ observations of a railway tunnel in a permafrost area in the Daxinganlin Ridge, Northeast China, the variation of the air temperature regime within the tunnel is discussed. It provides the scientific basis for the anti-freezing and water drainage design of tunnels in cold regions. It is pointed out from the observation that permafrost may be gradually developed in unfrozen ground in cold regions after tunneling. |
