Abstract: | Major types of coarse-detrital carbonate and sulfate rocks (psephites) are considered. Two large (allochthonous and autochthonous)
genetic groups are defined. Characteristics of some representatives are given for each group. It is shown that psephites of
the carbonate and sulfate composition differ from similar rocks of the quartz and quartz-silicate composition in terms of
formation mechanisms and depositional environments. |
