The satellite constellation will approach a critical configuration in continuous kinematic and ultrashort baseline rapid static positioning with GPS when the station and the satellites are in special position. The precision factor of graphics intension of the satellite constellation changes obviously in short time, so the coefficient matrix of the adjustment equation becomes singular and the solution of the constellation coordinate is uncertain. The paper analyses the reason that critical configurations occur and how critical configurations affect the positioning solution.
