“以后”和“后来”

This paper compares and analyzes “yǐhòu” and “hòulái” in a particular and thorough way. In semantics, “yǐhòu” can denote time and scope, but “hòulái” can only denote time . In syntactical function, the localizer “yǐhòu” can not only be single but also be postposition-part, “hòulái” as a noun of time can only be single. The two phrases in single have many different traits in conjunction with adverb and conj and the choice of sentence pattern. In the end, it analyzes the errors which occur in the process of foreign student's study.
