Abstract:This paper introduces a method for directly determining fluorine without any separation procedure. It can be used in presence of ethyl alcohol, and the potassium citrate as ionic strength adjustment buffer (pH 6-6.5). The determinations indicate that this method has some advantages, as high sensitivity and the Nernst linear extent up to 1×10-1M-1×10-6M, one order higher in magnitude than usual ones. Moreover, the method proposed here required less samples in amount (1-5ml.). In general, it is applicable for determining fluorine in minerals.
