| Abstract: | The conglomerate type of gold deposit was discovered in Jiaolai basin. The ore bearing strata is composed of conglomerates and located at the bottom of Cretaceous Laiyang group. The orebodies are pseudo stratiform or lenticle in shape and have the same occurrence as the strata. The thickness of orebodies is in the range of 1 20 m. Comparison of characters of conglomerate type of gold deposit in Witwatersrand was made in this paper with these in Jiaolai basin. Jiaolai basin is similar to Witwatersrand in mineralizing processes. This discovery has significant meanings to prospect of conglomerate type of gold deposits in China and to develop industry of gold. |
