摘    要:1. INTRODUCTIONIn the regulation of an estuary and the maintenance of a tidal channel for navigation, it is highlyimportant to investigate the interplay between tide and river flow and to anticipate its effects on sedimentation. Abstract:Based on the equations of motion for a two-phase flow, the writers present a set of four equations for foe one-dimensional sediment-laden flow in a prismatic channel in alluvium. Two cases are then considered. In one case. a theoretical expression of sediment concentration is derived for flow in the neighborhood of a tidal bore moving in an otherwise gradually and slowly varied flow in a rectangular channel of negligible resistance. In the other case. numerical computations are carried out on the four of the four bole equations for a reach of natural river. Computed discharge and concentration hydrographs come close to field data.
