| Abstract: | Hoek-Brown strength criterion is a famous non-linear strength criterion in the world, which is put forward by E. Hoek in 1980. On the basis of introducing its content and development history, the authors expound the research present state systematically on the criterion applied in geotechnical engineering, and analyze the reason why the criterion has not been widely applied in our country, that is, it is difficult for us to determine the empirical parameters m and s correctly. |
