THE ROLES OF NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS IN CHINA

Abstract:In macro-management, the government is usually considered as the sole managing body which is in charge of public property and commodities, maintaining its own operation with revenue incomes and providing consecutive service to the people The government regards private enterprises as subjects in the market system and meets the demands of the consumers with the help of the economic principles, through production and by benefiting consumers Under the command economic system, the Chinese government was at work in each minute aspect of social-economic life With the reform and open-door policy, there have been re-allocations of roles to different government agencies Distinct definitions of the roles of enterprises and the government were given special care and concern in the course of the reform Judging from the tendency and the results of the development of the world as a whole, both the government and enterprises have their own limitations: they cannot provide various service to the citizen or consumers alone In the course of social development, non-profit organizations came into being as a result They are able to meet the collective needs of special communities and they are the researchers and explorers for new means and ways Above all, they are supplementary to the government and enterprises
