| Abstract: | The response by a gaseous disc to perturbations is investigated. Spectral analysis of the resulting pattern indicates that information about the nature of the perturber is maintained only if the perturbation is strong.Paper presented at the IAU Third Asian-Pacific Regional Meeting, held in Kyoto, Japan, between 30 September–6 October, 1984. |
