| Abstract: | In this paper, the calculation of earthwork in the contour method, section method, square control network method and the digital elevation model （DEM） are compared and analyzed about the basic principles, methods, advantages and disadvantages. Their practical range and measurement conditions are discussed and analyzed, then the existing prob- lems are found out and the conclusion was given. |
