Theme Park Development in Wuhan City

Wuhan City is China's intersection of economic development and transportation by land and by river. It is also the center of industry, commerce, finance, science and technology, culture and tourism for central China. The overall economic development of the city ranks among the first ten cities in the country. It is densely populated, with a large number of transient populations. As a result, there is a heavy demand for tourism. However, Wuhan has fallen behind a lot of cities in tourism for the lack of good tourist attractions. This paper studies the status quo of tourism in Wuhan, and concludes that the key for developing tourism in the city is theme park development. This will also be the right choice for the tourism industry in Wuhan. On the other hand, large-scale theme park development means large investment and high risk. It is important for the local government to grant the city favorable policies to reduce the risk involved.
