摘    要:北极增幅性变暖和北极海冰快速减少不仅使北极气候系统成为国际前沿性问题,且对其导致的中纬度极端天气气候的影响研究也备受关注,这一研究成为目前少数几个最活跃的气候研究领域之一。本文回顾了这一研究领域的早期探索,总结了最新的科学假设和科学问题、研究的进展、目前的共识以及亟待解决的问题和主要争论。最后提出了未来取得新进展的共性问题。

Abstract:Arctic warming amplification and rapid sea ice decreasing have been occurring, which lead to an emergence of unprecedentedly challenging questions about not only the Arctic climate system itself, but its influence on the mid-latitude extreme weather and climate. In particular, the research on mid-latitude extreme weather and climate has increasingly become one of the most active research areas. Here the early explorations on the topic were reviewed, then the contemporary proposal of scientific hypotheses and questions, state of knowledge, and achieved consensus, open questions and key debates were summarized. At last, the existing common challenges and the way forward to reconcile knowledge gaps were put forward.
