| Abstract: | Considering the concept of cost-of-remediation (COR), water indices such as a quality index, a hazard index and a risk index are established to describe the water pollution in China. Sustainability analysis associated with water pollution is also addressed. The spatial variations of these indices in different provinces and the related reasons are considered. It is obvious that water pollution is mainly caused by the economic development, though economic development does not always bring higher risks. |
