| Abstract: | Based on the correlative analyses of suspended silt dynamic within and without the Minjiang Estuary, this paper proposes a package plan for harnessing the Inner and Outer Bar in the Minjiang Estuary , including the Hujiang lock dam, Wuhu-Chuanshi lock dam, Chuanshi longitudinal dam and Meihua longitudinal dam, major mechanism and detailed benefits from the harness are stated. Its starting point is to activate the Chuanshi stream, strengthen the boundaries of the mair channel, restrict the influence of the unfavourable factors from both the southern and northern shoals, and form finally a stable pattern in the Minjiang Estuary that the Chuanshi and Meihua Channel will empty individally into the sea. |
