The Charceteristics and Significances of the Fills in the Incised Valleies of Naxing Formation Near North Nyalam,Tibet

Channel-fill conglomerates and sandstones,beach quartz arenites and shelf shales with fine arennes of Lower Member of Naxing FM. of Lower Carboniferous in TethysHimalaya at Yali Village,Nyalam,South Tibet,are primarily described and analyzed in this paper. Three type-I depositional sequences, with incised valley fills, are distinguished IV 4,Ch1,Ch2,according to the composition of the background factes around the fills of channels,the sharp changes of sequence boundaries,the structure of the channel fills and the inpised at the exposure. These depositional sequences have a tendency of upward fining and deeping in the column section. IV4,Ch1 and Ch2 could be respectively correlated with the mesothes in WW Europe and the T-R cycles in Russian Platform and in Mississippi Valley during upper Ivorian of Touraisian and Chadian of Visean in early Carboniferous.
