| Abstract: | MAPGEN is an expert system for automatic cartographic generalization. The system consists of 5 parts: knowledge base, inference engine, explanatory interface, deductive database and graphics I/O package. In the paper, the structure of MAPGEN is introduced, the integration of KB, DB and GI/O is presented and some results are shown. |
