| Abstract: | Accurate understanding of the Rules in Regulations for Preventing Collisions At Sea is one of the difficult points in maritime English teaching.Based on some typical examples,this paper analyzes two grammatical phenomena-intermiss ion and ellipsis appearing in the Rules,for instance,the intermission between subject and predicate,the intermission between two parts of predicates,and the ellipsis of prepositions and verbs.Therefore,the paper is expected to be helpful to the education of maritime English and its learners. |
