Soil Gas Contaminant Investigations: A Dynamic Approach

Institution:Glenn M. Thompson is the founder and president of Tracer Research Corp. (3855 N. Business Center Dr., Tucson, AR 85705), a hydrochemical consulting firm specializing in tracer technology and subsurface contaminant investigations. He earned his B.S. (1970) and M.S. (1973) in geology from the University of Rhode Island and Memphis State University, respectively. He received his Ph.D. in geology from Indiana University (1976) and then served as a professor of hydrology at the University of Arizona for seven years.;Donn L. Marrin (consulting and research scientist, 5666 LaJolla Blvd., Suite 190, LaJolla, CA 92037) received his B.S. (1977) and M.S. (1980) degrees from the University of California in the biological and environmental sciences, respectively. After earning his Ph.D. in 1984 from the Department of Hydrology and Water Resources, University of Arizona, he spent two years as the principal scientist for Tracer Research Corp. At Tracer Research Corp., Dr. Marrin designed and interpreted the results from more than 50 soil gas investigations throughout the United States. His primary areas of expertise include hydrology, hydrochemistry, aquatic ecology, and the in situ biodegradation of volatile hydrocarbons in the vadose zone.
