Transformation of a diurnal tide climbing an extensive bottom irregularity

Diffraction of a diurnal barotropic tide above a solitary bottom elevation is studied on the basis of a linear model. The relationships between the structure of the wave disturbance field, the extent of the underwater obstacle, its latitude, and the angle of climb of the tidal wave are obtained.Translated by Mikhail M.
