摘    要:本文概述了台湾现代红树林的分布及其与气候,海流,底质等环境条件的关系,并将台湾的红树林与邻区做了对比。中国东南部陆,海域沉积物中红树花粉的分布变化规律在一程度上反映了第四纪以来的环境变迁。

Abstract:Mangroves are largely distributed on tropical coasts, but they may occur in subtropical zones and those where there eds warm ocean currents poleward from mangrove-rich areas. Kuroshio Warm Current not only maintains higher sea-surface temperature than that would otherurse be expected at the latitude but also offers transportation conditions for mangrove propagation. In East Asia, the number of mangrove species decreases with the incerease of latitude. In Taiwan similar pettern can be'seen, where only fifteen species have been recorded which are mainly distributed along the western coast, especially Bay. It should be noted that mangroves are absent on the eastern coast. However, at Iriomote Jina of the southern RyuKyus, which is Situated farther north to northern Taiwan, Sonneratia alba and Nypa fruticans and so on are found due to the influence of Kuroshio Warm Current.From the distribution of the mangrove pollen in the sediments of the Leizhou Peninsula (Q1), the Zhujiang Delta , the Hanjiang Delta the South China Sea ' and East China Sea , it can be deduced that the mangroves have expanded from south to north since Pleistocene epoch. Their north Limits reached the Changjiang Delta (the coast of the East China Sea) in nid-Holocene, So the study on mangrove pollen distribution is important for exploring paleoenvieronment and paleoclimate changes
