《中国三千年气象记录总集》谱中华文明之新篇——国家气候中心张德二访谈

与张德二先生相识、相知已有很长时间了。1980年代后期，我在中国气象科学研究院参加工作不久，几次到那时还在气科院气候所张先生位于三楼的办公室造访，留下的深印象就是她不大的办公室被几乎到屋顶高的卡片柜和档案资料堆满，只给自己留出细窄的过道以便于翻找资料。这样的场景使我第一次对气象学家从历史档案中研究气候演变规律有了切身的体会。随后近20年过去，虽然我们先后离开气科院，但由于我们共同属于九三学社中国气象局支社，也偶与她的研究生研讨一些气候变化方面的问题而有了更多的接触，

It has been acting as a bridge of academic exchange between Chinese and foreign meteorologists and aiming at introduction of the current advancements in atmospheric sciences in China. The journal columns include Articles, Note and Correspondence, and research letters. Contributions from M1 over the world are welcome.

气象大师的范例——记美国气象学家查尼

最近,在全球大气科学界隆重纪念数值天气预报成功和业务应用50年的时候,回首半个世纪我们走过的路,在20世纪中叶,在欧美发展数值天气预报的第一代先驱中间,一位后起之秀的名字——查尼令人难以忘怀。他杰出的贡献和优雅的风度,总能让人想起“天气预报是一门艺术”的说法。     

中国科学院院士—李崇银

李崇银,中国科学院院士,著名气象学家,中共党员,1940年出生于四川。1963年毕业于中国科学技术大学应用地球物理系,其后分配到中国科学院大气物理研究所（原为地球物理研究所二室）从事大气科学研究工作。1980-1981年在美国伊利诺依（Illinois）大学大气科学系进行合作研究一年多,

今年3月23日是世界气象组织成立60周年纪念日。19世纪中,由于航海的需要,一些欧洲的气象学家就想利用已经发明的无线电报来传递气象资料,以便制作天气图,并据此来进行天气预报。

地球在浩瀚的宇宙中漂泊了46亿年,而人类的祖先—智人在距今25万年前出现在地球上,短短的25万年间,人类就见证了地球沧海桑田的变化。比如,在珠穆朗玛峰上发现了海洋动物的化石。人们不禁思考:难道我们脚下所处的大地曾经是一片海洋?那又是什么原因让地球发生这些巨变的呢?1910年的一天,德国气象学家、地球物理学家、天文学家阿尔弗雷德·魏格纳(Alfred Wegener,1880—1930)因感冒在病床上百无聊奈的时候,眼光不经意间落在挂在床头的一幅世界地图上面,他惊讶地发现大西洋两岸--南北美洲的东海岸线和欧洲以及非洲的西海岸线的轮廓几乎完全吻合。
