褚亚平先生的学术思想与主要贡献

褚亚平先生是中国著名的地理教育学家和地名学家.他长期从事地理教育研究与实践,完善了中学地理教学法学科体系,创造性的提出地理教材"三系统"理论,提出以学生为本,促进学生全面发展与深入教学研究,培养高质量师资队伍并行的地理教育理论,他对地理教育的研究成果推动了中国地理教育学的发展.他重视地名研究与管理人才培养,撰写专著力图构建地名学的基础理论,并对新时期地名管理,地名规划,地名商品化等问题提出自己的看法.     

基于地名志的东北历史时期土地利用变化研究——以吉林省镇赉县为例

研究历史时期的土地利用与土地覆被变化,对于人类的生产活动有着重要的借鉴意义。本文以吉林省镇赉县为例,探讨了地名志等历史资料在确定东北地区大规模开发利用初始年限研究中的应用,并结合重分类、重心转移分析、叠加分析方法,分析了镇赉县地名志等史料记载的土地开发利用特征。结果表明:在康熙年间和1853年,镇赉县先后有过有记载的定居后小范围开垦活动,而直到1875年开始持续的土地开垦利用,此前镇赉县基本上处于自然状态。在技术手段不发达的早期,村屯的演变过程与土地开发利用过程是相辅相成的,因此,从村屯演变特征来看,1907-1912年期间土地开发利用最为突出;到1975年时,镇赉县村屯格局基本形成,而此时的土地开发利用活动已由个人行为转变为集体的机械化。在开禁等政策、自然灾害,以及战争等影响下,镇赉县土地开发呈由东部和中部的平坦地区向西部地势较高地区扩展的过程。     

Data,dispossession, and Facebook: techno-imperialism and toponymy in gentrifying San Francisco

ABSTRACT

This article situates the 2015 rebranding of Zuckerberg San Francisco General within San Francisco’s technopolitical landscape. After Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg donated to the hospital, thereby acquiring naming rights, local toponymical tension percolated. This was in part due to Facebook’s gentrifying role in the city and the racial violence such processes constitute, as well as ongoing practices data colonialism. The latter includes Facebook’s attempt at pairing hospital data with user data in order to augment its scope into intimate and bodily geographies. In exploring the intertwining of gentrification and data colonialism, here I forge the concept of techno-imperialism as an analytic and as a point of departure in understanding Facebook’s multi-scalar impacts. As I suggest, the transformation of “The General” to “The Zuckerberg” indexes the company's techno-imperiality, as well as its efforts to mask its dispossessive impacts.     

‘The forest is our inheritance’: An introduction to Semai Orang Asli place‐naming and belonging in the Bukit Tapah Forest Reserve

The forest realm of the Gòòl‐War watershed of southeast Perak, Malaysia holds much socio‐cultural significance to the Semai Orang Asli communities living along these rivers. Notwithstanding its present‐day location within the Bukit Tapah Forest Reserve, the forest continues to be where Semai conceptions of history and lore are encoded in the geographical particulars of the landscape. A thriving forest‐dependent lifestyle maintains and transmits Semai place knowledge, observed in this research through people's command of ancestral place‐names. This paper provides an introduction to Semai toponymy and considers the implications of indigenous place‐names on the protection of indigenous homelands and ways of life.     

结合地名知识和位置信息的中文地名匹配方法

针对中文地名数据中存在的“同名异地”“异地同名”等歧义问题,本文提出了一种结合地名知识和位置信息的地名匹配方法。首先基于特征词的规则匹配模式对地名名称结构进行了解析。然后结合地名的位置信息实现中文地名匹配;同时,基于地名的行政区划信息和实体信息关联多源地名数据,构建地名知识库。最后以兴趣点数据为例,基于名称相似度和位置相似度匹配地名数据中的地名信息,并以知识图谱的形式进行存储和表达。     

History of the Cartography and Toponymy of the Valley of Geysers (Kronotsky Reserve,Kamchatka Peninsula,Russia): From Field Drawings to 3D Documents

The article describes the evolution of the cartography and toponymy of the second largest geyser field in the world – the Valley of Geysers in the Kronotsky Reserve (Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia), discovered in 1941. The toponymy evolved in close connection with the development of the cartographic base that passed through the three stages from the first manual drawings to large-scale maps and to 3D models of the territory. The number of geysers with personal names increased gradually from twelve to more than one hundred. The article presents examples of diagrams and maps as well as tables of thermal features with coordinates. All main sources of literature were analysed for the period of 1941–2017, and the article presents a comprehensive historiography on the investigated topic. The evolution of instruments for the measurement of geyser activity is also briefly overviewed with examples of data obtained using the different methods.     

郭子章地理学著述成就述论

明万历朝的军事家、政治家郭子章,战功卓著,政绩突出,也是一位成就出色的大学者,其地理学尤其是历史人文地理方面的著述极为丰富。渊博的知识、非凡的经历,加上严谨的治学精神,造就了其地理学著述的价值。其地理学著述中,《郡县释名》是我国历史上最早的一部专门注释地名渊源的著作,在地名学史上占有重要地位;《黔记》、《豫章书》等大量方志,涉及江西、贵州等省之自然、人文地理内容;此外,郭子章在西南民族地区行政区划方面的探索与实践也在《黔草》等地方文献中多有体现。这些地理学著述为研究郭子章地理学思想、历代地名沿革、明代西南地区自然和人文地理提供了宝贵的资料。     

“The Corner of Avenue A and Twenty-Third Street”: Geographies of Street Numbering in the United States

The designation of streets by number is one of the hallmarks of North American urbanism, yet very few studies have examined the geographies of street numbering in U.S. cities and towns. This article provides one of the first comprehensive, nationwide assessments of the spatial distribution of street numbering and lettering practices across the United States. Drawing on data collected from Google Maps, census records, state almanacs, and related sources, we analyze the proportion of incorporated places in all fifty U.S. states that have adopted some form of street numbering or lettering; the regional variation in the prevalence of alphanumerical systems of street designation and the relationships between the occurrence of street numbering, population size, and date of incorporation. In doing so, the broader aim of this study is to undertake the empirical groundwork needed to develop a more nuanced critical theory of the social production of calculable space.     

批判转向以来地名学研究回顾与展望

20世纪80年代开始,包括人文地理学在内的国外学术界对传统地名学进行了批判转向,重视剖析地方命名与更名背后的社会关系与权力斗争。本文首先评述了批判转向以来,国外地名研究在政治、经济、社会与管理维度上的相关进展;其次,评述了目前国内的政区更名、地名商品化、地名争夺、地名与文化认同等可归为批判地名学范畴的研究进展;最后指出批判转向给国内地名学研究的启示,并结合社会主义市场经济与快速城镇化背景对地名研究进行展望。
