This study on the environmental quality of the Qingdao Cove intertidal zone sewage discharge area is based on data obtained
from the December of 1989 and 1990 macrobenthos investigations there, and uses pollution indicator species and computer aided
cladistic analysis to divide the area into a polluted area and a semipolluted area. The study showed the environmental quality
in 1990 improved over that in 1989.

Cladistic analysis was used to clarify the phylogeny of 16 genera of yeasts whose great morphological differences and inclusion in different classification systems resulted in controversies over the taxonomy of seven genera such as Crypeococcus, etc. Some scholars suggest that they belong to Ascomycetes. but others think they belong to fungi imperfecti. After comprehensive cladistic analysis of many genetic characters, the authors consider that the above-mentioned seven genera of yeasts developed in parallel with Ascomycetes so that they should belong to one and the same developmental system. 相似文献

It is possible to borrow from a topic of biology called phylogenetic systematics, concepts and tools for a logical and objective
classification of galaxies. It is based on observable properties of objects – characters – either qualitative (like morphology)
or quantitative (like luminosity, mass or spectrum). Distance analysis can readily be performed using a method called phenetics
and based on characters. But the most promising approach is cladistics. It makes use of characters that can exist in at least
two states, one being ancestral and the other one derived. Objects are gathered depending on the derived states they share.
We illustrate a first application of this method to astrophysics, that we name astrocladistics, with dwarf galaxies from the
Local Group.
