A 1-D collisional Monte Carlo model of Europa's atmosphere is described in which the sublimation and sputtering sources of H2O molecules and their molecular fragments are accounted for as well as the radiolytically produced O2. Dissociation and ionization of H2O and O2 by magnetospheric electron, solar UV-photon and photo-electron impact, and collisional ejection from the atmosphere by the low-energy plasma are taken into account. Reactions with the surface are discussed, but only adsorption and atomic oxygen recombination are included in this model. The size of the surface-bounded oxygen atmosphere of Europa is primarily determined by a balance between atmospheric sources from irradiation of the satellite's icy surface by the high-energy magnetospheric charged particles and atmospheric losses from collisional ejection by the low-energy plasma, photo- and electron-impact dissociation, and ionization and pick-up from the surface-bounded atmosphere. A range of sources rates for O2 to H2O are used with a larger oxygen-to-water ratio than suggested by laboratory measurements in order to account for differences in adsorption onto grains in the regolith. These calculations show that the atmospheric composition is determined by both the water and oxygen photochemistry in the near-surface region, escape of suprathermal oxygen and water into the jovian system, and the exchange of radiolytic water products with the porous regolith. For the electron impact ionization rates used, pick-up ionization is the dominant oxygen loss process, whereas photo-dissociation and atmospheric sputtering are the dominant sources of neutral oxygen for Europa's neutral torus. Including desorption and loss of water enhances the supply of oxygen species to the neutral torus, but hydrogen produced by radiolysis is the dominant source of neutrals for Europa's torus in these models.  相似文献

Conventional ablation theory assumes that a meteoroid undergoes intensive heating during atmospheric flight and surface atoms are liberated through thermal processes. Our research has indicated that physical sputtering could play a significant role in meteoroid mass loss. Using a 4th order Runge-Kutta numerical integration technique, we tabulated the mass loss due to the two ablation mechanisms and computed the fraction of total mass lost due to sputtering. We modeled cometary structure meteoroids with masses ranging from 10−13 to 10−3 kg and velocities ranging from 11.2 to 71 km s−1. Our results indicate that a significant fraction of the mass loss for small, fast meteors is due to sputtering, particularly in the early portion of the light curve. In the past 6 years evidence has emerged for meteor luminosity at heights greater than can be explained by conventional ablation theory. We have applied our sputtering model and find excellent agreement with these observations, and therefore suggest that sputtered material accounts for the new type of radiation found at great heights.  相似文献

本文采用磁控溅射镀膜技术制备了钨-金刚石透射靶材,借助电子扫描电镜对靶材的钨薄膜进行微观形貌分析。同时借助YXLON光机,研究自制靶材在X射线出射率及其产生X射线所需消耗功率和寿命等性能,并与YXLON原带靶材进行性能比较。研究表明,采用磁控溅射制备的钨薄膜与YXLON靶材上的钨薄膜具有相似的表面形貌;在YXLON光机相同工作条件下,自制靶材的X射线出射率略高于YXLON原带靶材的X射线出射率的1%,二者辐射X射线所需的功率相差无几,自制靶材的寿命要长于YXLON靶材的。这表明自制钨-金刚石靶材能够满足微焦点射线源所需的高质量靶材的应用要求。   相似文献

As a recent trend, the continuous increase of new technologies for space observations of new missions to Mars, Venus, and Titan, has stimulated vigorous experimental and theoretical studies on the collision process induced by interactions between plasma and planetary atmosphere. In order to facilitate the comprehension of these processes, this brief paper chose a collection of cross section data not always easily accessible. With the purpose of making a useful collection of such data we have collected both experimental and theoretical estimate for most of the expected collisions processes.  相似文献

俄歇电子谱(AES)在研究nm厚度表面层物质的主量和微量元素组成有广泛用途。AES可以观察到高放大倍率的表面组构和形貌,其极端表面灵敏度、极好的侧向分辨率使它能够在μm尺度上对矿物表面不同的晶畴进行化学分析,证明在矿物单个表面上存在侧向不均一性。AES不仅在扫描模式下可检测痕量的二次相,也可用来分析直径在μm尺度的几个nm厚度的产物,同样AES在测定热爆低盐度流体包裹体极薄的盐膜时也显示出独特的能力。AES最有潜力的地质应用是可以在侧向分辨率为μm级时得到nm尺度上的深度剖面。用AES得到的深度剖面对于研究化学风化作用是很重要的,因为它们直接提供了反应随深度的变化规律。俄歇谱结合XPS研究提供对矿物流体界面输运机制的研究方法和矿物流体之间的反应机制。  相似文献

This paper reports that Eu-doped ZnO films were successfully deposited on silicon (100) by radio-frequency magnetic sputtering. The x-ray diffraction patterns indicate that Eu substitutes for Zn in the lattice. Ferromagnetic loops were obtained by using superconducting quantum interference device at 10 K and room temperature. No discontinuous change was found in both of the zero-field-cooled and field-cooled curves. The observed ferromagnetism in Eu-doped ZnO can be attributed to a single magnetic phase. The saturation magnetisation decreased remarkably for the Eu-doped ZnO prepared by introducing 5% of oxygen in the sputtering gas or by the post annealing in O2, suggesting that the defects play key roles in the development of ferromagnetism in Eu-doped ZnO films.  相似文献

The TiO2--Mn--TiO2 multilayers are successfully grown on glass and silicon substrates by alternately using radio frequency reactive magnetron sputtering and direct current magnetron sputtering. The structures and the magnetic behaviours of these films are characterised with x-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscope (TEM), vibrating sample magnetometer, and superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID). It is shown that the multi-film consists of a mixture of anatase and rutile TiO2 with an embedded Mn nano-film. It is found that there are two turning points from ferromagnetic phase to antiferromagnetic phase. One is at 42 K attributed to interface coupling between ferromagnetic Mn3O4 and antiferromagnetic Mn2O3, and the other is at 97 K owing to the interface coupling between ferromagnetic Mn and antiferromagnetic MnO. The samples are shown to have ferromagnetic behaviours at room temperature from hysteresis in the M--H loops, and their ferromagnetism is found to vary with the thickness of Mn nano-film. Moreover, the Mn nano-film has a critical thickness of about 18.5 nm, which makes the coercivity of the multi-film reach a maximum of about 3.965times 10 - 2 T.  相似文献
