In this paper the applicability of an approximate Boundary Element Method to uniform half-plane elastodynamic problems is investigated. This method employs the concept of images to construct approximate fundamental solutions for the half-plane and does not require any half-plane surface discretization. The method is formulated in the frequency domain for the case of harmonic disturbances or the Laplace transform domain for the case of transient disturbances. In the latter case a numerical inversion of the transformed solution is necessary to obtain the time domain response. The proposed method can be used as an alternative to boundary element methods that either utilize the infinite plane fundamental solution and thus require a half-plane surface discretization, or employ the exact half-plane fundamental solution, which even though leads to no surface discretization, is of a very lengthy and complicated form. Two characteristics numerical examples are used to illustrate the proposed method and study its advantages and disadvantages. 相似文献

In this paper, the analytical layer-element method is utilized to analyze the plane strain dynamic response of a transversely isotropic multilayered half-plane due to a moving load. We assume that the studied system moves synchronously with the moving load, then the moving load relative to the moving system is considered to be motionless. Therefore, the vertical stress and the vertical displacement under the moving load need not update for the variation of the load position. Based on the governing equations of motion in the moving system, the analytical layer-element solutions for a finite layer and a half-plane in the Fourier transform domain are derived by using the algebraic operations in Ref. [7]. The global matrix of the problem can be obtained by assembling the analytical layer-elements of all layers. The corresponding solution in the frequency domain is further recovered by the inverse Fourier transform. Several examples are given to confirm the accuracy of the proposed method and to illustrate the influence of material properties. 相似文献

The time-history responses of the surface were obtained for a linear elastic half-plane including regularly distributed enormous embedded circular cavities subjected to propagating obliquely incident plane SH-waves. An advanced numerical approach named half-plane time-domain boundary element method(BEM), which only located the meshes around the cavities, was used to create the model. By establishing the modified boundary integral equation(BIE)independently for each cavity and forming the matrices, the final coupled equation was solved step-by-step in the timedomain to obtain the boundary values. The responses were developed for a half-plane with 512 cavities. The amplification patterns were also obtained to illustrate the frequencydomain responses for some cases. According to the results, the presence of enormous cavities affects the scattering and diffraction of the waves arrived to the surface. The introduced method can be recommended for geotechnical/mechanical engineers to model structures in the fields of earthquake engineering and composite materials. 相似文献
