Data collected in three Californian estuaries indicate that hypersaline conditions exist during the dry summers typical of a Mediterranean climate. The generalised seasonal and longitudinal hydrographic structures are described and explained. It is argued that this seasonal hypersalinity is common and that it represents a major class of estuaries. The observed accumulation of salt indicates surprisingly long residence times in small basins which have free exchange with the ocean. This semi-isolation of the inner basin leads to a large build-up or severe depletion of nutrients, pollutants and plankton in these systems. Of concern are the trends to increase pollutant loading in the same systems that are experiencing an increase in residence times owing to freshwater extraction in the watershed. 相似文献

The sensitivity of ground surface temperature prediction to soil thermal properties Using the Simple Biosphere Model (SiB2) 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Using the Simple Biosphere Model (SiB2), soil thermal properties (STP)
were examined in a Tibetan prairie during the monsoon period to investigate
ground surface temperature prediction. We improved the SiB2 model by
incorporating a revised force-restore method (FRM) to take the vertical
heterogeneity of soil thermal diffusivity (k) into account. The results
indicate that (1) the revised FRM alleviates daytime overestimation and
nighttime underestimation in modeled ground surface temperature (Tg),
and (2) its role in little rainfall events is significant because the
vertical gradient of k increases with increasing surface evaporation. Since
the original formula of thermal conductivity (λ) in the SiB2
greatly underestimates soil thermal conductivity, we compared five
algorithms of λ involving soil moisture to investigate the cause of
overestimation during the day and underestimation at night on the basis of
the revised FRM. The results show that (1) the five algorithms significantly
improve Tg prediction, especially in daytime, and (2) taking one of
these five algorithms as an example, the simulated Tg values in the
daytime are closer to the field measurements than those in the nighttime.
The differences between modeled Tg and field measurements are mostly
within the margin of error of ±2 K during 3 August to 4 September 1998. 相似文献

土壤水分扩散率是研究土壤水盐运动的重要参数之一。在室内用非稳定流水平土柱法对塔里木河流域阿拉尔绿洲灌区棉田土壤水分扩散率进行了测定。建立了Boltzmann变换参数、土壤水分扩散率与土壤含水率之间的定量关系。结果表明:土壤水分扩散率与土壤含水率呈单调递增关系。当土壤含水率趋近饱和含水率时,土壤水分扩散率趋近于无穷大。因此,用指数函数或幂函数不能很好地刻画土壤水分扩散系数与土壤的体积含水量之间的定量关系。本文建立的土壤水分扩散率与土壤含水率之间的函数关系较好地反映了土壤水分扩散系数与土壤的体积含水量之间的客观规律。 相似文献

With the aid of integral transform techniques, this paper presents an extended precise integration solution for thermal consolidation problems of a multilayered porous thermo-elastic medium with anisotropic thermal diffusivity and permeability due to a heat source. From the fundamental governing equations, ordinary differential equations are derived by employing Laplace–Hankel transforms. By applying the extended precise integration method, equations in the transformed domain can be solved, and the actual solutions are further obtained by adopting a numerical inverse transformation. The accuracy and feasibility of the proposed theory is demonstrated by contrastive analysis with existing studies. Finally, several examples are carried out to investigate the influence of heat source’s type, axial distance, burial depth of heat source, ratio of thermo-permeability, permeability anisotropy, thermal diffusivity anisotropy and stratification on the thermal consolidation process. 相似文献

Thermal fronts and cross-frontal heat flux in the southern Huanghai Sea and the East China Sea 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Synoptic features in/around thermal fronts and cross-frontal heat fluxes in the southern Huanghai./Yellow Sea and East China Sea (HES) were examined using the data collected from four airborne expendable bathythermograph surveys with horizontal approxmately 35 km and vertical 1 m(from the surface to 400 m deep) spacings. Since the fronts are strongly affected by HES current system, the synoptic thermal features in/around them represent the interaction of currents with surrounding water masses. These features can not be obtained from climatological data. The identified thermal features are listed as follows : ( 1 ) multiple boundaries of cold water, asymmetric thermocline intrusion, locally-split front by homogeneous water of approxmately 18 ℃, and mergence of the front by the Taiwan Warm Current in/around summertime southern Cheju - Changjiang/Yangtze front and Tsushima front; (2) springtime frontal eddy-like feature around Tsushima front; (3) year-round cyclonic meandering and summertime temperature-inversion at the bottom of the surface mixed layer in Cheju - Tsushima front; and (4) multistructure of Kuroshio front. In the Kuroshio front the mean variance of vertical temperature gradient is an order of degree smaller than that in other HES fronts. The southern Cheju- Changjiang front and Cheju -Tsushima front are connected with each other in the summer with comparable cross-frontal temperature gradient. However, cross-frontal heat flux and lateral eddy diffusivity are stronger in the southern Cheju - Changjiang front. The cross-frontal heat exchange is the largest in the mixing zone between the modified Huanghai Sea bottom cold water and the Tsushima Warm Current, which is attributable to enhanced thermocline intrusions. 相似文献

Hydraulic diffusivity and macrodispersivity calculations embedded in a geographic information system

Abstract A numerical technique is presented whereby aquifer hydraulic diffusivities (D) and macrodispersivities (α) are calculated by linear equations rewritten from flow and solute transport differential equations. The approach requires a GIS to calculate spatial and temporal hydraulic head (h) and solute concentration gradients. The model is tested in Portugal, in a semi-confined aquifer periodically monitored for h and chloride/sulphate concentrations. Average D (0.46 m2/s) and α (1975 m) compare favourably with literature results. The relationship between α and scale (L) is also investigated. In this context, two aquifer groups could be identified: the first group is heterogeneous at the “macroscopic” scale (solute travelled distances <1 km), but homogeneous at the “megascopic” scale. The overall scale dependency in this case is given by an equation of logarithmic type. 在边界层动力学中,涡动粘性系数是影响边界层风场结构的一个重要参数。本文利用边界层动力学中的Ekman动量近似理论,给出了涡动粘性系数随高度缓变条件下的Ekman动量近似边界层模式解,着重讨论了边界层的风场结构、水平散度、垂直涡度以及边界层顶部的垂直速度。结果分析表明:与常值涡动粘性系数情况相比,在边界层低层随高度增加的涡动粘性系数可以导致低层边界层风速随高度迅速增加,即风速垂直切变增加,同时风速矢与地转风之间的夹角减小。惯性项作用可以导致上述作用在气旋性区域减小、而在反气旋性区域增大。随高度增加的涡动粘性系数导致水平散度绝对值、垂直涡度绝对值以及边界层顶部的垂直速度绝对值在气旋性区域减小,而在反气性旋区域增大。涡动粘性系数与惯性之间的非线性相互作用是边界层动力学中重要过程。 相似文献

Electron transport properties of single crystal and polycrystalline natural mineral galena (PbS) samples from the Trep?a mine, Yugoslavia, were determined using the photoacoustic frequency transmission technique. Their thermal diffusivity (D T≈0.16 × 10?5 m2 s?1), the coefficient of diffusion (D between 0.15×10?2 0.16×10?2 m2 s?1) and lifetime of the excess carrier (τ≈35 μs and the front and rear recombination velocity (s g≈65.5 m s?1 and s b≈66.4 m s?1, respectively), were calculated by comparing the experimental results and the theoretical photoacoustic amplitude and phase signals. The lattice parameter obtained by X-ray work was a?=5.936?Å. The free carrier concentration of these single-crystal samples was measured using the Hall method (N?=?3×1018 cm?3). Measurements of the optical reflectivity of the same samples, as a function of wavelength, in the infrared and far infrared ranges, were performed. In the far infrared range a free electron plasma frequency was observed and numerically analyzed, using the least-squares fitting procedure. The values of optical parameters were calculated and the value of the free carrier concentration obtained by the Hall method was confirmed. 相似文献

分析G-R-闵公式后得出,它是从点源幅射场导出的,与地震宏观场不相应。因在近场震源不能视作点源。在分析过程中,导出相当于点源、线源或面源以及复杂源的幅射场的深度公式。对实际的地震,它的源类型一无所知,所以不预作假定,将源指标几何扩散率n作为待定参数,导出了一个物理意义明确而又普遍化的震源深度公式。此公式的诸解法中,以计算方法准确、精度高,作图法有直观的优点,但准确性差、精度低,图算法只作获取粗略值和考察数据均匀性用。计算了9个8级以上巨震、1个71/2大震,和两个M_L=3的有感地震的震源深度,经对比结果很好,利用计算得出震源类型,结合宏观场研究了这些地震的震源几何学。并且首次在国际上给出宏观地震震源深度值的标准误差。 相似文献
