GPS在地震监测预报中的应用研讨会在厦门召开

中国地震局监测预报司和中国地震学会形变专业委员会联合主办、福建省地震局承办的GPS在地震监测预报中的应用研讨会，于2005年6月25日至27日在厦门召开。会议围绕GPS在地震预测研究和地球动力学研究中的应用、GPS与地震监测预报试验场地建设设计规划和研究思路以及GPS最新发展等进行了学术交流。来自全国的40多位专家学者参加了这次研讨会。     

Mineral Atlas of the World

In 1997 the mineral resources of Europe and neighbouring countries were presented as a printed map and a book of exhaustive information and references. This was the first published map inventory of mineral deposits from all parts of the formerly politically divided Europe (East and West), measured and evaluated according to identical geological and mining standards.

Today, we hold the Seminar for ICA Commission on national and regional Atlases in Beijing , just before the opening of the 20th International Conference of Cartography. As a member of the International Cartographic Association Commission on National and Regional Atlases, I am honored to be the host for this Seminar and to warmly welcome all of you.     

“第十届全国古地理学及沉积学学术会议”在成都召开

由中国矿物岩石地球化学学会岩相古地理学专业委员会、中国矿物岩石地球化学学会沉积地质专业委员会、中国地质学会沉积地质专业委员会、中国地质学会地层古生物专业委员会、中国地质学会石油地质专业委员会和中国石油学会石油地质专业委员会主办,中国石油化工股份有限公司勘探南方分公司和中国石油化工股份有限公司西南油气分公司承办,中国石油大学(北京)、成都理工大学和中国石油勘探开发研究院协办的"第十届全国古地理学及沉积学学术会议",2008年9月22-24日在成都召开.这次会议是我国古地理学及沉积学领域的一次盛会.与会人员来自中科院、高校、石油系统、地矿系统、煤炭系统、核工业系统和出版系统等近40个单位,共185人.其中,年龄最大的82岁,最小的22岁.     

Geological research at the Natural History Museum of Moscow University, 1759-1930 （in Russian）

In 2006, the Moscow publishing house Nauka （Science） published a 246-page book by Zoya A. Bessudnova entitled Geological Research at the Natural History. Museum of Moscow University, 1759-1930 as No. 32 in its series ＂Sketches on the History of Geological Knowledge＇. The author is a geologist and Senior Researcher in the Department for the History of Geology of the Vernadsky State Geological Museum of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and a member of the International Commission on the History of Geological Sci- ences （INHIGEO）.     

前进中的二十五年

山东海洋学院是1959年3月30日建立的一所以海洋学科为主的理工科高等学校，担负着培养海洋科技人才和发展海洋科学技术的任务。建院初期，全院只有两个系五个专业，教职工二百八十五人，在校学生四百八十一人，图书九万余册，仪器设备较少。
