A search for low energy neutrinos of all flavours in correlation with 553 ray bursts detected by BATSE aboard the Compton Observatory has been performed by the LSD (Liquid Scintillator Detector) neutrino telescope. No excess ofe,, orv e,, candidate has been detected by LSD during the time interval in which BATSE detected the 90% of the photon flux for any of the GRBs analyzed. Upper limits on the neutrino fluxes are given in the paper.  相似文献

Basic characteristics of the “response” of underground neutrino detectors to the explosion of SN 1987A occurred on February 23, 1987, are presented. We would like to attract the attention of readers to the group of studies in which correlations were found between the pulses in various detectors on February 23, 1987. By a confluence of circumstances, these studies fell into the category of marginal ones. Here, we provide arguments for the genetic relationship of the effects detected in these studies to stellar collapse. We have made judgements about a possible interpretation of the results of these studies, in particular, about the existence of a weak neutrino pulsar that operated for 2 h near 2:52 UT.  相似文献

In this paper we show the capabilities of the Large Volume Detector (INFN Gran Sasso National Laboratory) to identify a neutrino burst associated with a supernova explosion, in the absence of an “external trigger”, e.g., an optical observation. We describe how the detector trigger and event selection have been optimized for this purpose, and we detail the algorithm used for the on-line burst recognition. The on-line sensitivity of the detector is defined and discussed in terms of supernova distance and intensity at the source.  相似文献

We consider an improved rotational mechanism of the explosion of a collapsing supernova. We show that this mechanism leads to two-stage collapse with a phase difference of ~5 h. Based on this model, we attempt a new interpretation of the events in underground neutrino detectors on February 23, 1987, related to the supernova SN 1987A.  相似文献
