We present results of investigations into chromospheric velocity oscillations in sunspots, carried out at the Sayan Solar Observatory. It is shown that the “chevron” structures in the space-time diagrams demonstrate wavetrain properties. Such structures are indicators of a propagating wave process and they are typical of many sunspots. In the authors’ opinion, three-minute umbral oscillations are not the source of running penumbral waves (RPW). It is very likely that umbral oscillations and RPW initially propagate along different magnetic field lines. We explain the decrease in RPW propagation velocity and frequency in the outer penumbra, as compared with the inner, by the combined action of different frequency modes. To better reveal the properties of these modes, frequency filtering was used. Our measurements of the RPW (five-minute mode) wavelength and RPW propagation velocity in different sunspots vary from 12 to 30 and from 28 to 60 – 70 km s−1 correspondingly.  相似文献

A comparative analysis of oscillatory spectra based on 66 time series for 14 active regions observed in 2001 shows that, although the chromospheric and photospheric oscillations in the Evershed flow zone possess many common features, there is no firm evidence that the direct and inverse flows have the same physical origin. The interactions between the various oscillation modes and stationary flows results in a complex pattern of wave motions in a sunspot. We studied the Doppler-velocity variations in the sunspot NOAA 0051 during its motion over the disk. The spatial-temporal distribution of the line-of-sight velocity in the chromospheric umbra displays a chevron structure, clearly indicating the presence of propagating waves. These waves move from the center of the umbra to outer regions with a phase speed of 45–60 km/s, a period of 2.8 min, and a measured Doppler speed of 2 km/s. The amplitude of these oscillations decreases abruptly at the boundary between the umbra and penumbra, and the observed waves are not directly related to propagating penumbral waves. Furthermore, the observed pattern of the photospheric velocities shows periodic motions (with a period of 5 min) directed from the inner boundary of the penumbra and superpenumbra toward the line of maximum Evershed velocity.  相似文献

In this paper we carry out an analysis of the spatial–temporal line-of-sight velocity variations measured in the chromospheric (H, H) and photospheric (Fei 6569 Å, Fei 4864 Å, Nii 4857 Å) lines at the base of 17 coronal holes. Time series of a duration from 43 to 120 min were recorded with the CCD line-array and the CCD matrix. Rather frequently we observed quasi-stationary upward flows with a measured velocity of up to 1 km s–1 in the photosphere and up to 4–5 km s–1 in the chromosphere (equivalent radial velocity of up to 3 km s–1 and up to 12–15 km s–1 accordingly) near dark points on the chromospheric network boundary inside polar CH. Line-of-sight velocity fluctuation spectra contain meaningful maxima in the low-frequency region clustering around the values 0.4, 0.75, and 1 mHz. Usually, the spatial localization of these maxima mutually coincides and, in our opinion, coincides with the chromospheric network boundary. Acoustic 3- and 5-min oscillations are enhanced in the coronal hole region and reach 1 km s–1 in the photosphere and 3–4 km s–1 in the chromosphere. These oscillations are not localized spatially and are distinguished throughout the entire region observed.  相似文献

Using intermediate degree p-mode frequency datasets for solar cycle 22, we find that the frequency shifts and magnetic indices show a `hysteresis' phenomenon. It is observed that the magnetic indices follow different paths for the ascending and descending phases of the solar cycle, as the descending path always seems to follow a higher track than the ascending one. However, for the radiative indices, the paths cross each other indicating phase reversal.  相似文献

Spatial and temporal variations in the line-of-sight velocities and brightnesses measured in the Hα and FeI 6564 Å Hβ and FeI 4864 Å NiI 4857 Å lines at the bases of polar coronal holes are analyzed. Time series with durations of 43–120 min were recorded using a CCD strip (3700 pixels 200×7 µm in size) and a CCD array (256×1024 pixels 24 µm in size). Quasi-stationary upward flows (with radial velocities reaching 3 km/s in the photosphere and 12–15 km/s in the chromosphere) were observed near dark points at the boundaries of the chromospheric network. The acoustic 3-min and 5-min oscillations are amplified in the coronal hole, and reach 1 km/s in the photosphere and 3–4 km/s in the chromosphere. The spectra of fluctuations of the line-of-sight velocity exhibit significant maxima at low frequencies, clustering near 0.4, 0.75, and 1 mHz.  相似文献
