Morphogenesis of a population of the marine euplotid ciliate, Uronychia binucleata, which was found in Yellow Sea coastal waters next to a sewage outfall at a beach near Zhanqiao Pier, Qingdao, China, was investigated using protargol staining. The main pattern of morphogenesis is typical for the genus and can be summarized as follows: 1) the oral primordium in both proter and opisthe develops de novo in a subcortical pouch. In each daughter cell, the developing adoral zone of membranelles divides into two parts. The new membranelles formed in the proter's oral primordium will replace the leftmost five parental ones; six parental membranelles are retained by the proter; 2) the undulating membranes anlage is formed and develops independently from the oral primordium within the same subcortical pouch; 3) five primary front oventral-transverse cirral anlagen appear de novo on the cell surface; 4) the marginal cirral anlagen are formed de novo; 5) the leftmost frontal cirrus develops de novo on the cell surface; 6) two caudal cirri are formed at the posterior end of the rightmost anlage while the second primordium from the right gives rise to the third caudal cirrus. In contrast to its congeners, the anlage of the leftmost frontal cirrus is formed to the right of the undulating membranes anlage and before the formation of the latter.  相似文献

A plasma gun source has been successfully used to obtain sub-bottom profiles. The profiles show better penetration than with a 3-5 kHz source and more resolution than with an air gun. The plasma gun source is compact, self-contained, and requires no complex auxiliary equipment. The device was deployed from large research vessels and a small boat. The plasma gun produces sufficient acoustic energy and with its characteristically short pulse length and broad bandwidth it is an attractive sub-bottom profiler, especially in shallow fresh or salt water.  相似文献

Data on three Japanese geochemical reference samples (JR-1, JA-1, and JB-2) are presented. Ten major and thirty-five trace element concentrations were determined using x-ray fluorescence, instrumental thermal neutron activation, thermal neutron capture prompt gamma-ray spectrometry, delayed neutron assay, automated thermal neutron activation analysis, inductively coupled plasma emission, atomic absorption, and ion selective electrode. Good agreement between the various methods and with recent literature values were obtained using error weighted mean concentrations for the samples.  相似文献

Abstract— Lunar meteorite Queen Alexandra Range 94281 is remarkably similar to Yamato 793274. Pairing in the conventional Earth-entry sense is difficult to reconcile with the 2500 km separation between the find locations for these two samples. Nonetheless, both of these regolith breccias are dominated by very-low-Ti (VLT) mare basalt, the pyroxenes of which feature exsolution lamellae on a remarkably coarse scale (typical lamella width = 0.5–1 μm) by mare standards. The pyroxenes also show similar compositional variations (e.g., Fe# vs. Ti# trends, which confirm parentage from VLT mare basalt). Plots using Al2O3 or FeO as a tracer of the highland component indicate indistinguishable internal mare-highland geochemical mixing trends. The same two distinctive glass types dominate the mare glass populations of both breccias. Glass type YQ1 features 0.37–0.63 wt% TiO2, 10–17 wt% MgO, and 9–11 wt% Al2O3. Glass type YQ2 features higher TiO2 (0.99–1.22 wt%), which is inversely correlated with MgO (12.6–13.8 wt%), and nearly constant (8.8 wt%) Al2O3. All of these similarities suggest that Y-793274 and QUE 94281 are a launch pair, which we designate YQ. Most of these similarities also extend to another mare-breccia meteorite, Elephant Moraine 87521. However, the EET 87521 mare basalt is unusually V-poor (~88 μg/g), whereas the YQ mare component contains ~166 μg/g. Queen Alexandra Range 94281 features a variety of textural domains. Discrete patches of dark matrix material appear to represent clods of mature regolith that have been mixed with a coarser, relatively immature material. Interior to a frothy fusion crust are areas of massive glass that probably formed as a splash coating on QUE 94281 when it was still on the Moon. The coarse YQ and EET 87521 pyroxene exsolution features imply relatively slow cooling in either a very shallow sill or an unusually thick (ponded) lava and/or later annealing within a cryptomare. Mare pyroclastic glasses, including the two YQ varieties, are systematically MgO-rich compared to crystalline mare basalts. This disparity may be a consequence of limited survival of graphite—the main fuel for explosive volcanism—during formation of the mare source regions as magma ocean cumulates. Graphite (2.2 g/cm3) survived preferentially in regions that avoided extensive early melting and thus remained MgO-rich. An apparent bimodality in the TiO2 contents of mare volcanics, especially the pyroclastic glasses, also seems a plausible consequence of petrogenesis by remelting of magma ocean cumulates. Cumulates deposited after the magma ocean evolved to ilmenite saturation had vastly higher TiO2 contents than cumulates deposited shortly before. The YQ regolith's subequal proportions of mare and highland matter are consistent with derivation from a terrain close to a mare-highland boundary. However, a similar mixture might also develop through vertical mixing in a cryptomare or a region of thin mare coverage. Thus, unfortunately, the YQ bulk composition is not a very useful clue to the identity of the source crater.  相似文献

Hydrographic data collected in cyclonic eddies in the Mozambique Channel and Basin revealed notable differences in temperature and salinity at a depth of 100 m, the upper mixed layer, the nitracline depths, and vertical distribution of chlorophyll-a (Chl-a). Differences in temperature and salinity did not show any consistent patterns. In contrast, the differences in the upper mixed layer, nitracline depths and the vertical Chl-a profile appeared to be driven by combined effects of eddy dynamics (i.e. shoaling of isopleths) and the seasonal variation in light availability and mixing conditions in the upper layers. Cyclonic eddies studied during austral spring and summer in the Mozambique Channel exhibited shallower upper mixed layers and nitracline depths, and deeper euphotic zones. Distinct subsurface Chl-a maxima (SCM) were associated with the stratified conditions in the upper layers of these eddies. In contrast, a cyclonic eddy studied during mid-austral winter in the Mozambique Basin had a shallower euphotic zone, deeper upper mixed layer and uniform Chl-a profiles. Another eddy sampled in the Mozambique Basin toward the end of winter showed a less pronounced SCM and roughly equal euphotic zone and upper mixed layer depths, suggestive of a transition from a well-mixed upper layer during winter to stratified conditions in summer.  相似文献
