The enstatite-diopside solvus presents certain interesting thermodynamic and crystal-structural problems. The solvus may be considered as parts of two solvi one with the ortho-structure and the other with clino-structure. By assuming the standard free energy change for the two reactions (MgMgSi2O6)opx ? (MgMgSi2O6)cpx and (CaMgSi2O6) opx ? (CaMgSi2O6) cpx as 500 and 1 000 to 3 000 cal/mol respectively, it is possible to calculate the regular solution parameter W for orthopyroxene and clinopyroxene. These W's essentially refer to mixing on M2 sites. Temperature of pyroxene crystallization may be estimated by substituting for T in the above equation until the equation ?RT In K a=500 is satisfied. The shortcomings of this method are the incomplete standard free energy data on the end member components and the absence of site occupancy data in pyroxenes at high temperatures. The assumed free energy data do, however, show the possible extent of inaccuracy in temperature estimates resulting from the neglect of Mg-Ca non ideality.  相似文献

The subgroups within the basaltic achondrite suite are defined using the structural criterion of Wahl (1952). The ‘monomict’ meteorites are samples of a single lithology while the polymict meteorites are those containing two or more lithologies. The ‘monomict’ subgroups eucrites, cumulate eucrites and diogenites are subdivided into both brecciated and unbrecciated meteorites. The polymict achondrites sample a petrological-compositional continuum that contains both mafic and ultramafic rock types and may be subdivided into several groups. Two groups of polymict basaltic achondrites, the polymict eucrites and howardites are separated using an arbitrarily defined criterion. The recommended criterion is based on the amount of magnesian ortho-pyroxenite (diogenite) component in the meteorite. Howardites contain more than 10% and polymict eucrites contain less than 10%. The criteria proposed (perhaps with minor variations), appear to reconcile the ambiguities caused by the polymict eucrites. These meteorites, using earlier structural criteria, are howardites, but using mineralogical-chemical criteria are eucrites. As a subgroup of the polymict achondrites, their relationship with the howardites is clear, and the preservation of the term ‘eucrite’ in their name highlights their modal affinity to the monomict eucrites.  相似文献

Recently, study in past trends of climate variables gained significant consideration because of its contribution in adaptions and mitigation strategies for potential future changes in climate, primarily in the area of water resource management. Future interannual and inter-seasonal variations in maximum and minimum temperature may bring significant changes in hydrological systems and affect regional water resources. The present study has been performed to observe past(1970-2010) as well as future(2011-2100)spatial and temporal variability in temperature(maximum and minimum) over selected stations of Sutlej basin located in North-Western Himalayan region in India. The generation of future time series of temperature data at different stations is done using statistical downscaling technique. The nonparametric test methods, modified Mann-Kendall test and Cumulative Sum chart are used for detecting monotonic trend and sequential shift in time series of maximum and minimum temperature. Sen’s slope estimator test is used to detect the magnitude of change over a period of time on annual and seasonal basis. The cooling experienced in annual TMax and TMin at Kasol in past(1970-2010) would be replaced by warming in future as increasing trends are detected in TMax during 2020 s and 2050 s and in TMin during 2020 s, 2050 s and 2080 s under A1 B and A2 scenarios. Similar results of warming are also predicted at Sunnifor annual TMin in future under both scenarios which witnessed cooling during 1970-2010. The rise in TMin at Rampur is predicted to be continued in future as increasing trends are obtained under both the scenarios. Seasonal trend analysis reveals large variability in trends of TMax and TMin over these stations for the future periods.  相似文献

Mixtures of synthetic crystalline enstatite and diopside were reacted with small water contents in sealed capsules in piston-cylinder apparatus at 30 kb between 1000° C and 1700° C. The compositions of coexisting enstatite and diopside solid solutions were measured with an ARL-EMX electron microprobe between 1000° C and 1500° C. Between 1100° C and 1500° C the pyroxenes coexisted with H2O-undersaturated liquid which quenched to inhomogeneous pyroxene crystals. The presence of liquid facilitated growth of pyroxene crystals suitable for microprobe determinations. The solvus of Davis and Boyd (1966) is generally used in geothermometry; our enstatite solvus limb is a few mol-% richer in Mg2Si2O6 in the temperature range 1000–1400° C; our diopside solvus limb is a few mol-% richer in Mg2Si2O6 below 1100°C, in close agreement between 1100° C and 1200° C, but richer in CaMgSi2O6 between 1200° C and 1500° C. Estimated equilibration temperatures for a diopside with composition 78.7% Di is 1300° C according to our results compared with 1210° C for the Davis and Boyd solvus.  相似文献

秃鹫提供了宝贵的生态系统服务,在生态系统平衡中发挥着重要作用,但印度本土秃鹫数量在过去几年有所下降。掌握秃鹫栖息地的分布现状对于管理和防止秃鹫数量继续下降至关重要。可以预见,目前的气候危机可能会进一步导致秃鹫生境适宜性的变化,并影响现存的秃鹫种群。因此,本研究利用物种分布模型,对印度中部一个秃鹫栖息地的短期和长期变化进行预测,并以统计和图形的方式呈现数据。选择MaxEnt软件进行预测,是因为它与其他模型相比具有一定的优势,如只使用现有数据,在数据不完整、样本量小、样本间隙小等情况下表现良好。采用全球气候模式集成学习算法(CCSM4、Had GEM2AO和MIROC5)以获得更好的预测结果。14个稳健模型(AUC 0.864–0.892)是利用7个秃鹫种群(长喙、白臀、红头、银灰色、埃及秃鹫、喜马拉雅和欧亚狮鹫)在两个季节共1000多个地点的数据建立的。选定的气候(温度和降水)和环境变量(NDVI、海拔和土地利用/土地覆盖)被用于预测当前栖息地,未来的预测只基于气候变量。影响秃鹫栖息地分布的最重要变量是降水量(bio 15,bio 18,bio19)和温度(bio 3,bio 5)。在目前的预测中,森林和水体是影响土地利用的主要因素。在较小尺度上,随着时间的推移,极端适宜的栖息地面积减少,高度适宜的栖息地面积增加,总适宜栖息地面积在2050年略有增加,但到2070年有所减少。在更大的尺度上考虑,2050年适宜栖息地的净损失为5%,2070年为7.17%(RCP4.5)。相似的,在RCP8.5下,2050年适宜栖息地的净损失为6%,2070年为7.3%。研究结果可用于制定秃鹫的保护规划和管理,从而保护其免受未来的气候变化等威胁。  相似文献

Single-crystal X-ray, optical, and microprobe study of pyroxenes in the Serra de Magéfeldspar cumulate eucrite indicate complex exsolution features from a slow cooling history. Two pyroxenes now exist: “low” orthohypersthene ( P21ca) as host ( 82 vol.%) and augite ( C2/c) in four distinct habits. This pyroxene pair yields an apparent “equilibration” temperature of 900°. These relations are typical for orthopyroxene of both the Stillwater and Kintoki-San types, indicating an original pigeonite pyroxene with a bulk composition En51Fs39Wo10. Variations in augite-hypersthene textural relationships suggest variable initial compositions from about Wo8 to Wo11. The bulk composition is intermediate to those of initial pigeonites in Moama and Moore County but the augite-hypersthene tie line is longer suggesting a slower cooling history. Our examinations of all three meteorites show that Serra de Magéaugite lamellae are as thick or thicker than those in the other meteorites, contrary to the measurement of Miyamoto and Takeda. The compositional data, textural relations, and existence of P21ca hypersthene suggest at least a comparable if not slower cooling history for Serra de Magé.  相似文献
