This article outlines the main mechanisms for in-situ removal of iron from groundwater. The dependence of ferrous iron kinetic oxidation by dissolved oxygen on the temperature and pH in bicarbonate near neutral groundwater was investigated. The dependence of oxygen consumption efficiency on the iron sorption coefficient, pH, and temperature of groundwater was obtained as a result of modeling of the one well in-situ iron removal test in the Amurskiy water intake facilities.  相似文献

Based on MODIS data, a significant decline in the intensity and spatial extension of blooms of coccolithophore E. huxleyi in Arctic waters in 2002–2010 is revealed and quantified. This 9-year tendency has been unfolding against a background of negative trends in the dynamics of SST and levels of incident PAR and summer-time NAO, which collectively, but with a predominance of the NAO influence, are believed to be the main drivers of the decline of E. huxleyi blooms and the associated decline in inorganic carbon production in the Arctic Basin.  相似文献

As a continuation of previous studies of 3H, δ2H, δ18O, Ar, 40Ar/36Ar, and 234U/238U isotope systems, data of uranium-helium dating of groundwater at the radioactive waste repository of Siberian Chemical Works are quantitatively interpreted. The interpretation is based on analytical models taking into account the inflow of deep-earth helium and the diffusion-advection exchange between layers. Estimated flow velocities in reservoir beds and buffer horizons are in agreement with previous hydrodynamic estimates. The obtained velocities of horizontal mass transfer were used to evaluate the age of groundwater in sampling points. Water age varies from 7 to 14 (with a mean of ~9) in the lower (II and III) aquifers, into which the radioactive wastes are pumped, from 2 to 4 in buffer horizon IV, and from 1 to 2 thousand years in the upper V horizon.  相似文献

Principles of estimation of infiltration groundwater recharge based on modeling the formation of water balance on the land surface and in the vadose zone are considered. The application of such models for regional discharge evaluation involves zoning of the territory by a set of meteorological, landscape, geological, soil, and hydrogeological factors. The reliability of the obtained estimates of water balance components, including infiltration recharge, should be assessed by correlating the calculated and measured river runoff characteristics for drainage basins within which the water-bearing section in the zone of active water exchange is completely drained. The application of such approach is illustrated by calculations for southwestern Moscow Artesian Basin.  相似文献

This paper presents a method for restoring missing seismic traces by using the two-dimensional dip moveout (DMO) equation. A fundamentally new formulation of the initial-boundary-value problem based on the Goursat problem is proposed. A modified finite element method is used for numerical solution.
