Shales and graywackes were first metamorphosed at 650°C and then partially melted at 700 and 750°C at 2, 4, 6, and 8 kilobars in the presence of 0.75m NaCl−0.45m KCl and 0.225m CaCl2−0.750m NaCl solutions. In experiments with shales,KK+Na ratio in the decreases with increasing pressure at 650 and 700°C; however, at 750°C this ratio is equal to 0.5 at all pressures investigated. This suggests that melts at 700°C and at 2 to 8 kilobars pressure may be affected metasomatically whereas melts at 700°C and in the same pressure range will not. Melt composition produced in the shale-KClNaCl experiments is granite at 2, 4 and 6 kilobars pressure, whereas the melt compositions in the shale-CaCl2NaCl experiments range from quartz monzonite (2–5 kilobars) to granodiorite (above 5 kilobars). Experiments with graywacke-KClNaCl produced melts of trondhjemite composition at 2, 2.5, 4, 6, and 7.5 kilobars.
These results indicate that partial melting of crustal rocks such as metamorphosed shales and graywackes in the deeper parts of the crust can produce large volumes of granitic magmas ranging in composition from true granite to trondhjemite to quartz monzonite and granodiorite. 相似文献
Phthalates are considered priority pollutants because of their potential adverse effects on ecosystems and human health. The objectives of this study were to determine the occurrence of five phthalates (DMP, DEP, DBP, BBP, and DEHP) in sewage sludge and to determine the seasonal variability of these contaminants at three (Bahçe?ehir, Pa?aköy, and Tuzla) full‐scale municipal and domestic wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) in Istanbul, Turkey. Mass balance was also calculated for DEHP at Tuzla WWTP sludge treatment units. DMP, DEP, DBP, BBP, and DEHP concentrations in sewage sludge ranged from 1.4 to 2.7 mg/kg dry weight (dw), 1.1 to 2.8, 0.6 to 4.6, 2.8 to 6.2, 18 to 490 mg/kg dw, respectively. Phthalate concentrations from the Bahçe?ehir and Pa?aköy WWTPs met the limit (100 mg/kg dw) of Turkey national sludge regulation and the Europe Union draft of sludge directive for land application, whereas phthalate concentrations from Tuzla WWTP exceeded the maximum permissible concentration. Phthalate concentrations did not show seasonal variations for Bahçe?ehir and Pa?aköy WWTPs, which receive mainly household wastewater while some fluctuations were observed DEP, DBP, and DEHP at Tuzla WWTP which has a lot of industrial wastewater contribution. The mass balance showed that approximately 17% of DEHP in the primary and secondary sludge was removed by anaerobic digestion, while 43% returned back to the beginning of the WWTP and 40% remained in the dewatered sludge. This study suggests that phthalates in sludge from WWTPs with industrial wastewater contribution may limit the use of sludge for land application. 相似文献
Experiments were conducted to test the hypothesis that higher silica rhyolites of the St. Francois Mountains, Missouri, USA are products of fractional crystallization of lower silica granitic magmas. Experiments were carried out at pressures of 0.5 and 1.0 kb under water-saturated conditions, temperatures ranged from 800° to 925°C and the oxygen fugacity for all experiments were maintained at, or near, the nickel-nickel oxide (NNO) buffer level.
Results of experiments with Butler Hill granite indicate that fractionation of near liquidus silicate phases, orthopyroxene and plagioclase, causes an enrichment of SiO2 in the residual melts. Mineralogical and chemical compositions of the experimental charges are similar to that of higher silica Grassy Mountain rhyolites of the St. Francois Mountains. Experiments also show that at pressures of 1.0 Kb or higher orthopyroxene reacts with the hydrous melt to produce biotite which is a common phase in the plutonic rocks of the St. Francois Mountains. 相似文献
Five‐step sequential extractions were employed to fractionation of Ni, Cr and Cu in soil polluted by anthropogenic activities and determine the mobility of the metals. Twelve samples were collected on an agricultural area that was located near an airport and intercity roads in Elazig‐Turkey. Exchangeable, organically bounded, carbonate bounded, adsorbed species on Fe and Mn oxides and residual species (except silicates) of Ni, Cr and Cu were extracted into solution by using CaCl2, Na4P2O7, Na2EDTA, NH2OH–HCl and HNO3–H2O2, respectively. Mobile metal concentrations in fractions and total recoverable in soils were determined by using inductively coupled plasma‐optical emission spectrometry (ICP‐OES). Total recoverable Ni, Cr and Cu concentrations were in the range of 40–119, 45–126 and 23–72 mg kg?1, respectively. It was observed that total concentrations of metals in some of the samples were higher than the permitted values. The sum of the mobile percentages of metals was found to be lower than 50%. The Ni, Cr and Cu percentages for exchangeable species are in the ranges of 0.18–1.64, 0.03–0.59 and 0.42–2.53%, respectively. 相似文献
In this paper the aim is to investigate whether there are differences between the dispersion and non-dispersion solutions on tsunami propagation. For this purpose, two numerical models of tsunami propagation are compared. One of these numerical models is a nondispersive model that uses Saint Venant equations and the other is a dispersive model that uses Boussinesq equations. The tsunamis resulting from a submarine mass failure (SMF) which is settled at the bottom of the north eastern Sea of Marmara are examined. An analytical solution considering wave dispersion is developed for obtaining near-field tsunami amplitudes above the submarine mass failure. Numerical modeling is used at the sea surface from the common boundary called as liquid boundary with incident waves up to the coastal regions to get the tsunami amplitudes. The output of the analytical model is taken as the disturbances for the numerical method. In the numerical solutions TELEMAC-2D software system is used for both dispersive and nondispersive modeling. The results of the dispersive and nondispersive models are compared to each other. Both temporal and spatial differences in the amplitudes and wave shapes are examined. The obtained results demonstrate that there are no noticeable differences between the dispersion and non-dispersion solutions except some special cases and some special landslide velocities. 相似文献
This study presents an overview of the geotechnical properties of the clayey soils, referred to as Ankara clay, at two sites of the Ankara region in an attempt to design a landfill profile composed of a high density polyethylene (HDPE) geomembrane/clay composite liner through the Hydrologic Evaluation of Landfill Performance (HELP) model and the Water Balance Method. The geotechnical properties of the landfill layers along with the water balance factors (i.e., evapotranspiration, precipitation, temperature, etc.) were assessed to determine the height of the water-saturated zone in the refuse above the composite liner for landfill design. The cumulative expected leakage rates through the composite liner constructed with compacted Ankara clay were related quantitatively to the cumulative average leachate head. The results of this investigation show that the leakage rates through the composite liner are within tolerable limits. 相似文献
Calc-alkaline rocks of the Hasan Dagi volcano (Central Anatolia, Turkey) are products of arc volcanism triggered by continental
collision. Volcanic rocks of the Hasan Dagi range in composition from basalt to rhyolite but are dominated by andesite and
dacite. Considering only the mass transfer part of the process leads to an incomplete picture of magma chamber processes.
The exclusion of simultaneous calculations of heat and mass transfer between mixing magmas, however, has prevented petrologists
from gaining new insights into the magma mixing process. Thus, we report our experimental results in conjunction with modeling
with MELTS to test the ideas concerning the petrogenesis of Hasan Dagi volcanic rocks and quantitatively model the relevant
petrogenetic processes. Our results demonstrate that the chemical diversity of Hasan Dagi volcano is inconsistent with the
closed-system crystallization and differentiation. Thus, (1) our experimental modeling, (2) the agreement between the liquid
line of descent defined by the natural rock data and the MELTS calculations, and (3) the agreement between the mineralogy
of the rocks and calculated mineralogy corroborate the conclusion that the isobaric–isenthalpic magma mixing of basalt and
rhyolite is the major controlling process in the petrogenesis of the Hasan Dagi magmas. 相似文献
Clay-bearing Upper Pliocene red clastics and Quaternary alluvial deposits occupy the Ankara basin. The clayey levels of the Upper Pliocene deposits, referred to as Ankara clay, is considered as a source for compacted clay liners due to their low coefficients of permeability and widespread distributions throughout Ankara. This study investigates the geological, geotechnical and mineralogical properties of the founding clayey soils at two sites of the Ankara region. The geotechnical index properties along with the hydraulic conductivities of the clayey soil samples collected from these sites were determined. A mathematical relation between the clay mineralogical content and hydraulic conductivity was established. The results of this investigation show that, from a geotechnical point of view, Ankara clay may be regarded as a highly suitable material for a compacted clay landfill liner given that its mineralogical compatibility with leachate is confirmed. 相似文献
The apsidal motion analysis of the eccentric eclipsing binaries: V397 Cep, V493 Car and BW Aqr have been presented. The method described by Lacy (1992) [Lacy, C.H S., 1992. AJ 104, 2213] has been used for the apsidal motion analysis. The apsidal motion periods have been found to be 174.2 ± 1.4, 277.3 ± 21.3 and 7195 ± 174 years for V397 Cep, V493 Car and BW Aqr, respectively. 相似文献
Results of chemical analyses of glasses produced in 46 melting experiments in air at 1,350° C and 1,450° C on rocks ranging in composition from nephelinite to rhyolite have been combined with other published data to obtain an empirical equation relating in \((X_{{\text{Fe}}_{\text{2}} {\text{O}}_{\text{3}} }^{{\text{liq}}} /X_{{\text{FeO}}}^{{\text{liq}}} )\) to T, \(\ln f_{{\text{O}}_{\text{2}} } \) and bulk composition. The whole set of experimental data range over 1,200–1,450° C and oxygen fugacities of 10?9.00 to 10?0.69 bars, respectively. The standard errors of temperature and \(\log _{10} f_{{\text{O}}_{\text{2}} } \) predictions from this equation are 52° C and 0.5 units, respectively, for 186 experiments. 相似文献
