We present a relatively simple time domain method for determining the bandpass response of a system by injecting a nanosecond pulse and capturing the system voltage output. A pulse of sub-nanosecond duration contains all frequency components with nearly constant amplitude up to 1 GHz. Hence, this method can accurately determine the system bandpass response to a broadband signal. In a novel variation on this impulse response method, a train of pulses is coherently accumulated providing precision calibration with a simple system. The basic concept is demonstrated using a pulse generator-accumulator setup realised in a Bedlam board which is a high speed digital signal processing unit. The same system was used at the Parkes radio telescope between 2–13 October 2013 and we demonstrate its powerful diagnostic capability. We also present some initial test data from this experiment. 相似文献

A critical study of 311 published WR chemical analyses, isotopic and mineral chemistry of anorthosites and associated rocks
from eight Proterozoic massif anorthosite complexes of India, North America and Norway indicates marked similarities in mineralogy
and chemistry among similar rock types. The anorthosite and mafic-leucomafic rocks (e.g., leuconorite, leucogabbro, leucotroctolite,
anorthositic gabbro, gabbroic anorthosite, etc.) constituting the major part of the massifs are characterized by higher Na2O + K2O, Al2O3, SiO2, Mg# and Sr contents, low in plagioclase incompatible elements and REE with positive Eu anomalies. Their δ
18O‰ (5.7–7.5), initial 87Sr/86Sr (0.7034–0.7066) and ɛ
Nd values (+1.14 to +5.5) suggest a depleted mantle origin. The Fe-rich dioritic rocks occurring at the margin of massifs have
isotopic, chemical and mineral composition more close to anorthosite-mafic-leucomafic rocks. However, there is a gradual decrease
in plagioclase content, An content of plagioclase and XMg of orthopyroxene, and an increase in mafic silicates, oxide minerals content, plagioclase incompatible elements and REE from
anorthosite-mafic-leucomafic rocks to Fe-rich dioritic rocks. The Fe-rich dioritic rocks are interpreted as residual melt
from mantle derived high-Al gabbro melt, which produced the anorthosite and mafic-leucomafic rocks. Mineralogically and chemically,
the K-rich felsic rocks are distinct from anorthosite-mafic-leucomafic-Fe-rich dioritic suite. They have higher δ
18O values (6.8–10.8‰) and initial 87Sr/86Sr (0.7067–0.7104). By contrast, the K-rich felsic suites are products of melting of crustal precursors. 相似文献

Provenance of the late Paleocene sandstone of the Jaisalmer basin has been determined by petrographic and heavy minerals analysis supported by paleocurrent study. Petrography of the quartzose-arenite sandstone reveals an abundance of sub-angular to sub-rounded monocrystalline non-undulatory quartz and some amount of feldspar and rock fragments. The rock fragments are dominated by argillites (slate, phyllite) and limestone. The heavy minerals suite of these sandstones comprises of angular to sub-angular grains of magnetite, zircon, tourmaline, kyanite and staurolite. The paleocurrent analysis indicates bipolar paleocurrent pattern with the dominance of NW flow suggesting that the provenance was in the SE direction of the depositional basin. Q-F-L and Qm-F-Lt diagrams suggest for a provenance at the margin of the craton interior and transitional continental. It is envisaged that the basic igneous rocks of the Deccan basalt, low- to medium-grade metamorphic rocks of the Aravalli belt and Jurassic limestones present in the vicinity are the source rocks for the late Paleocene sandstones of the Jaisalmer basin. 相似文献

A pot culture experiment was conducted to study impact and interaction of multi-metals on growth, yield and metals uptake by spinach (variety All Green). Three levels of each chromium (0, 50 and 100 mg/kg), cadmium (0, 1 and 2 mg/kg) and zinc (0, 10 and 20 mg/kg) in combinations (total treatments 3 × 3 × 3 = 27) were applied in a Vertisol (5 kg). The results showed that increasing the concentration of chromium, cadmium and zinc in soil enhanced the respective metal concentrations in spinach root and shoot. When cadmium at 2 mg/kg along with chromium at 100 mg/kg soil was applied, chromium concentration and uptake were decreased in root and shoot. Meanwhile, zinc application had no significant effect on chromium uptake and concentration in spinach biomass. From the results, it was concluded that cadmium at higher dose had an antagonistic effect over chromium. On the other hand, in chromium, cadmium and zinc combinations particularly at their higher levels, a competition among each other was found. Therefore, the findings could be used as guidelines for controlling and management of heavy metals pollution in farmland. 相似文献

Inclined anchors are widely used in a variety of civil engineering problems to resist oblique loads, most relevant being in
transmission towers and in rocks and dams for structural strengthening. In the present study, the breakout resistance of the
inclined anchors in sand has been worked out using limit equilibrium approach. The breakout resistance has been calculated
for different soil friction angles with varying relative depth ratio and anchor inclination. The break out factor increases
continuously with the inclination of the anchor. A comparison of predicted values of break out resistance of anchors by the
proposed analysis with the experimental values as reported by the other researchers showed reasonably good agreement. 相似文献

The paper pertains to the analysis of piles embedded in liquefiable soils to predict its’ critical buckling load under partial
to full loss of lateral support over a portion of the pile length. The analysis is based on extension of Mindlin solution
for a point load acting inside a semi infinite elastic half space. Degenerated solutions obtained by using the developed method
compares very well with reported results. Parametric studies showed that the depth of liquefiable soil, degradation of soil
strength on liquefaction, slenderness ratio, pile stiffness factor and end conditions have significant influence on the buckling
behavior of the piles. 相似文献

Numerical models for simulation of mass flows are typically focussed upon accurately predicting the paths, travel times and
inundation from a single flow or collapse event. When considering catchment-based hazards from a volcano, this is complicated
by often being faced with several possible scenarios. Over the last 800 years at Mt. Taranaki/Egmont, a number of dome growth
and collapse events have resulted in the genesis and emplacement of block-and-ash flows (BAFs). Each BAF was directed northwestward
by a breach in the crater rim. The latest dome collapse events in the AD 1880s and AD 1755 inundated the northwestern flank
and had run-out lengths 10 km from source. Future activity of this type could have a devastating effect on the Taranaki region’s
communities, infrastructure and economy. Hazard planning has involved constructing volcanic hazard maps based upon the areas
inundated by past volcanic flows, with little consideration of present-day topography. Here, a numerical geophysical mass
flow modelling approach is used to forecast the hazards of future comparable BAF events on NW Mt. Taranaki. The Titan2D programme
encompasses a “shallow water”, continuum solution-based, granular flow model. Flow mechanical properties needed for this approach
include estimates of internal and basal friction as well as the physical dimensions of the initial collapse. Before this model
can be applied to Taranaki BAFs, the input parameters must be calibrated by simulating a range of past collapse events. By
using AD 1860 and AD 1755 scenarios, initial collapse volumes can be well constrained and internal and basal friction angles
can be evaluated through an iterative approach from previous run-out lengths. A range of possible input parameters was, therefore,
determined to produce a suite of potentially inundated areas under present-day terrain. A suite of 10 forecasts from a uniformly
distributed range were combined to create a map of relative probabilities of inundation by future BAF events. These results
were combined in a GIS package to produce hazard zones related to user-specified hazard thresholds. Using these input parameter
constraints, future hazard forecasts for this scale and type of event can also take into account changing summit and topographic
configurations following future eruptive or collapse events. 相似文献

The digital linear filter method is used to compute the normalized vertical magnetic field for a circular loop in CFS system. Three-layer earth models with resistive and conductive basement are considered. The corresponding field expressions are suitably written, and the multifrequency response is computed and presented in convenient forms. Analysis of theoretical data indicates that for highly resistive basement, the variation in layer conductivity and intermediate layer thickness is well reflected on three-layer amplitude response curves at low frequencies and at high conductivity contrasts between first and second layers. This, however, is not true in the case of conductive basement, where the resolution of the intermediate layer is observed to be comparatively poor. The resolution of an intermediate conductive layer in a three-layer sequence is found to be satisfactory. 相似文献
