We study the interaction between dark energy(DE) and dark matter in the scope of anisotropic Bianchi type-I space-time. First we derive the general form of the DE equation of state(EoS) parameter in both non-interacting and interacting cases and then we examine its future by applying a hyperbolic scale factor. It is shown that in the non-interacting case, depending on the value of the anisotropy parameter K,the DE EoS parameter varies from phantom to quintessence whereas in the interacting case the EoS parameter varies in the quintessence region. However, in both cases, the DE EoS parameter ωdeultimately(i.e. at z =-1) tends to the cosmological constant(ωde=-1). Moreover, we fix the cosmological bound on the anisotropy parameter K by using recent observational data about the Hubble parameter.  相似文献

Pakistan is located at the cross-roads of plate boundaries, experiencing multiple hazards of earthquake, flood, drought, water-logging, salinization and recurrent landslides. This paper examines the causes and environmental impacts of frequently occurring landslide hazards in the Murree area of Pakistan??s Himalayan region. These are wide ranging in nature and in terms of the damage that result. The area under research was divided into eight blocks and randomly data collected. It was observed that landslides mostly occur along the road network and disturbed slopes. Immature geology, a wide variation in climate and degradation of the natural resource-base were found to be some of the causal factors responsible for the landslide hazards. During the past three decades, rapid expansion of urban zones contributed to the changing vulnerability of the area. The analysis revealed that a large majority of the households (75%) in the area have been directly or indirectly affected by landslide hazards. Damages to already scarce agricultural land, infrastructure and other properties are each year a regular and escalating phenomenon. Landslide size, frequency and consequent costs of damage have increased considerably.  相似文献

Sediment transport from mountainous to lowland areas is considered one of the most important geomorphological processes. In the present study, variations in transported sediment loads and dissolved loads have been studied over 3 years (2008–2011) for two forested catchments located in the Lesser Himalayan region of India. Seasonal and annual suspended sediment flux was strongly influenced by amounts of rainfall and streamflow. On average, 93% of annual load was produced during the monsoon, of which 62–78% occurred in only five peak events. Sediment production by the degraded forest catchment (Bansigad) was 1.9-fold (suspended sediment load) to 5.9-fold (bedload) higher than the densely forested catchment (Arnigad). The dissolved organic matter potentially influences total dissolved solids in the stream. Heavy rainfall triggers both stream discharge and landslides, which lead to higher bedload transport. Total denudation rates for Arnigad and Bansigad were estimated at 0.68 and 1.02 mm?year?1, respectively.  相似文献

This study focuses on the development of absolute gravity model for Pakistan based on best possible residual terrain model of gravity using residual terrain modeling technique. The datasets used for the development of model are observed gravity, global gravity models, and Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM30) elevation data. The residual terrain modeling technique has been used in the remove-restore procedure for smoothing the observed gravity field. Different topographic elevation models were tested in the model selection and one best possible model with minimum mean and standard deviation was selected for residual terrain effects. Least square collocation technique has been used for quality control and error estimates. The best possible covariance model was established from residual gravity for onward prediction of gravity anomalies at the earth surface for error and prediction analysis. The residual terrain effect of gravity, value of free air anomaly from EGM96, and observed free air anomaly are added to normal gravity to compute the absolute gravity at earth surface. The prediction of these parameters is made by employing Lagrange interpolation with least square adjustment. The results are compared with ~5% randomly selected data points not utilized for the development of covariance function and/or model development. Spline interpolation technique has also been used for the prediction of gravity field-related parameters. Lagrange interpolation exhibits relatively superior results over spline-based interpolation. This is as per expectation due to the reason that additional gridding for spline interpolation filters the signal part as well. This fact is evident from the results of spline interpolation of Grid-I and Grid-II with relatively better prediction results in Grid-I. This version of the model is capable of prediction having limiting error of 30 mGal. The predicted results show that 96.16% of prediction data falls within above-mentioned limit with Lagrange interpolation technique with least square adjustment for whole Pakistan area. The adverse effect of gridding is absent in case of Grid-I due to relatively flat areas and predicted data matches totally with control values for both spline as well as Lagrange interpolations. However, in case of Grid-II which includes high mountains of Himalaya, gridding effect is present and the accuracy of the predicted results falls to ~92%. The computed results have been compared with absolute values predicted using EGM96 and EGM2008 models as well. The gravity field recovered with PAKGM model is much better, i.e., ~ 96.16%, than both with EGM96 and EGM2008 which is about 85% only.  相似文献

Baseflows have declined for decades in the Lesser Himalaya but the causes are still debated. This paper compares variations in streamflow response over three years for two similar headwater catchments in northwest India with largely undisturbed (Arnigad) and highly degraded (Bansigad) oak forest. Hydrograph analysis suggested no catchment leakage, thereby allowing meaningful comparisons. The mean annual runoff coefficient for Arnigad was 54% (range 44–61%) against 62% (53–69%) at Bansigad. Despite greater total runoff Qt (by 250 mm year1), baseflow at Bansigad ceased by March, but was perennial at Arnigad (making up 90% of Qt vs. 51% at Bansigad). Arnigad storm flows, Qs, were modest (8–11% of Qt) and occurred mostly during monsoons (78–98%), while Qs at Bansigad was 49% of Qt and occurred also during post-monsoon seasons. Our results underscore the importance of maintaining soil water retention capacity after forest removal to maintain baseflow levels.

In exploration geophysics, the efforts to extract subsurface information from wave characteristics exceedingly depend on the construction of suitable rock physics model. Analysis of different rock physics models reveals that the strength and magnitude of attenuation and dispersion of propagating wave exceedingly depend on wave-induced fluid flow at multiple scales. In current work, a comprehensive analysis of wave attenuation and velocity dispersion is carried out at broad frequency range. Our methodology is based on Biot's poroelastic relations, by which variations in wave characteristics associated with wave-induced fluid flow due to the coexistence of three fluid phases in the pore volume is estimated. In contrast to the results of previous research, our results indicate the occurrence of two-time pore pressure relaxation phenomenon at the interface between fluids of disparate nature, that is, different bulk modulus, viscosity and density. Also, the obtained results are compatible with numerical results for the same 1D model which are accounted using Biot's poroelastic and quasi-static equation in frequency domain. Moreover, the effects of change in saturation of three-phase fluids were also computed which is the key task for geophysicist. The outcomes of our research reveal that pore pressure relaxation phenomenon significantly depends on the saturation of distinct fluids and the order of saturating fluids. It is also concluded that the change in the saturation of three-phase fluid significantly influences the characteristics of the seismic wave. The analysis of obtained results indicates that our proposed approach is a useful tool for quantification, identification and discrimination of different fluid phases. Moreover, our proposed approach improves the accuracy to predict dispersive behaviour of propagating wave at sub-seismic and seismic frequencies.  相似文献
